“I never meant to cause you any sorrow
I never meant to cause you any pain
I only wanted to one time to see you laughing
I only wanted to see you
Laughing in the purple rain” --Prince, The Revolution
The large stone is Charoite. It was discovered in Russia in 1978 in the Murun mountains in Yakutia. This the only known location for this rare mineral. The name Charoite is derived from the Charo River which is near where it was found.
The bottom stone is a deep purple Sugilite. It is found in Canada, Japan, and India
This piece wanted to be spectacular. I accented the curve with three Rhodolite Garnets. These garnets are rosy red with a purplish tinge. And then I accented the sides of the curve with Amethyst.
The stones are set with sterling and fine silver. The pendant suspends from an 18" sterling silver round omega chain.
