Mookaite Jasper is the stone at the top of this necklace. Mookaite is normally seen as butterscotch yellow laced with burgundy red. This is the first time I've seen the red and pinks without a trace of yellow. It's hard to describe the colors and I guarantee you will never find this again. Sumptuous.
The stone at the bottom is Thomsonite. It's a rare stone only found in a couple of places on Lake Superior. It's rare to find a Thomsonite stone this large, cut and polished. These days if you find one, they will likely be less than 1/4 of an inch. This one was sold to me by a Grand Marais, Minnesota, native who hunted for the stones in his youth when they built the roads.
The pendant is about 3 1/2 inches tall by 2 1/4 inches wide. It will come suspended on an 18 inch stainless steel mesh chain that echos the silver in the piece. The chain is hypoallergenic, and will never tarnish.
