This piece didn't even really talk to me ahead of time. It just became. I let go and watched it happen.
You'll see the art deco and Frank Lloyd Wright influence in the work.
The stones are Tiger Iron and Carnelian. Tiger Iron is formed when the earth's plates smash together bands of red jasper, tiger eye, and hematite. This is a striking stone with rare, straight lines.
The stones are set with sterling and fine silver. The piece also has red brass and copper to pick up those colors from the stone. The pendant is 2 1/2 inches tall and 1 1/2 inches wide. I have it suspended on a clever sterling silver chain that can be shortened or lengthened by adjusting two silver balls. It's a brilliant design that can go from 24" to as small as you like.
"Earth, my dearest, oh believe me, you no longer need your springtimes to win me over...Unspeakably, I have belonged to you, from the flush.” --Rainer Maria Rilke
