This stone is called Mary Ellen Jasper and it is found at the Biwabik mine in Minnesota. The roses in the stone are a deep, burgundy red set against a dark backdrop. I accented the bouquet with a Brazilian Agate and a faceted garnet.
The stones are set using sterling and fine silver. It is currently suspended on an German-made 18" natural rubber cord with sterling end clasps.
“She cast her fragrance and her radiance over me. I ought never to have run away from her... I ought to have guessed all the affection that lay behind her poor little stratagems. Flowers are so inconsistent! But I was too young to know how to love her.” --Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, The Little Prince
