We took a trek down to Isla Mujeres, Mexico. We flew from Hibbing to Minneapolis to Cancun. There was a blizzard down by Minneapolis, so we were delayed a day. The bonus? We were bumped to first class! This wasn't just any first class, this was on a new, big plane with first class "pods." I'm totally spoiled.
Why was I on my phone? To text friends that I was sipping a mimosa!
We've been to this island many times, so I brought the camera along mostly to capture glimpses of what inspires me.
This time is was circles. I kept noticing and being drawn to circles.
This is the patio of our apartment. We stayed here years ago when it was a funny little place with tinfoil around the light fixtures and you couldn't reserve ahead of time. You just showed up and paid $45 per night. They've renovated and now it's pretty posh. (And a lot more per night....)
Notice the "round thing" for lounging? I spent a bit of time there.
I love art on buildings.
And color! We're so starved for color this time of year. This was a little transport motorbike.
I spotted a bike tire sticking out - round.
Then later on the beach, another one in a different way.
They had these fantastic glass globes at the entrance to our place.
More street art. Circles in the words and the eyes and spots.
Back on the beach - a beach ball.
Even our pool had a circle in the center.
This one has nothing to do with circles. Very curious. I'm intrigued.
I'm going to make a prediction that circles will be coming out of the studio in the next few weeks.
