It's the time of year when the Echo Trail blazes with purple lupine. I ride my bike a lot from our house in Winton to the Echo Trail and then up to Bass Lake and back.
Here's my bike and some of that lupine.
My bike is a Terry Trixie. I've had it for like 18 years. I know it so well that it's like an extension of me. I can't even imagine a different bike.
I have this image of what I look like out there. This is close:
But here's the reality:
Of course, that photo was taken before the snow melted. Now that I'm wearing my shorts and tank top, I look a lot more like the first photo. Well, I do still wear my safety vest with the plaid pockets. I sewed those on because you need to carry stuff.
Once the snow melts, I wear a hiking boot on my bad foot and my biking shoe on the right foot. Can't miss me.
If you see me, please don't honk. It's startling. Instead, I suggest a hearty wave. I'll wave back.
