I took a quick run down to Mom and Dad's for a fall harvest and cheese run. First stop, my favorite cheese store near Marshfield - Nasonville Dairy.
Look at these fresh, squeaky cheese curds! I only bought one bag. But I did stock up on other cheeses. We should be good for the winter. (Those people are just random customers. I don't know them, I don't think.)
There are a lot of Amish farms in the area. We were on the look out for any that were selling produce.
They have a little hut-like building that has a self-serve coin drop. A young woman came out and picked a few things for me right from her garden. Beautiful.
Back at home, here's Dad. Don't even ask why he has that gun....
Later we took off for Cain's Orchard in Hixton.
They had a resident, friendly dog.
Look at this bounty! I got Honeycrisp, Sweet 16's, and a package of Wolf River apples to try. There will be apple goodness coming out of the kitchen in the next few days.
My last stop before heading back to the north woods was the Neillsville farmers' market. Here is the parking area.
I bought some flowers from this woman. Look at the eggplant! I made a moussaka inspired dish already. I'll likely repeat that today. Let me know if you'd like the recipe.
