You'd think that we're already "away from it all" by living here. But you know, there are always those things to keep you busy when you are home. Including all of that stuff in your head.
Do you ever just stop? I mean like even right now. If you just stop for a minute, you'll realize how busy your head can be. It's so busy that you're not hearing anything else.
Nothing like getting away from it all to stop all of that head noise.
We loaded up the boat and looked only a little like the Beverly Hillbillies as we headed to a lake down the road. We live here, so we don't have far to go to get away. This time it was a 15 minute drive.
When we go camping and have the big boat, we pack a few luxuries. The screen house is a MUST have this time of year.
The lake was like glass and we caught some fish.
Steve is the fish monger. Here is his fish cleaning station.
We're all chill.
When my head was busy again, I got to thinking about selfies.
When we were on vacation in Mexico, all of the kids were taking selfies. And by "kids" I mean everyone from 15-50 years old. For hours! Last time we were there I don't think we even saw a cell phone. I took photos of them taking selfies.
I decided to make my own selfie stick. I rummaged around the house and found a metal spatula and some tape.
Voila! Selfie stick.
Mind you, I've never seen one of these close up. When I showed it to the guys, Wade said, "How do you take the picture?" I said, "Like this!"
This is the result. I guess the real sticks have buttons on the handle so that you can press the camera shutter while holding the stick out.
Do you have a selfie stick? Let me know in the comments. I may end up getting a real one one of these days.
